Negativity trumps the positive, a breath of fresh air

BREATHING – NEGATIVE IONS

Negative ions are odourless and you cannot taste them. They are in the air.

Research has shown that squeezing all the breath out of my body on an hourly basis, even tensing all the muscles in my body and releasing them feels terrific to do. Feel the relaxation and looseness.

Interestingly, inspire means to in-breathe.

Poor ventilation, traffic pollution and even passive smoking can decrease the proportion of oxygen in the air and the body. Being cooped up in buildings all day can have these effects. These appear to be filled with positive ions from air conditioners, televisions, screens, computers and other electric units, that release them into the air.

Too much exposure to positive ions creates symptoms such as drowsiness, headaches, fatigue and nausea, even some dizziness. Recognise this? The air becomes depleted of negative ions as most ions in the air are positive, making the air we breathe positively charged.

Negatively ions create negatively charged air.

Negative ions increase the level of oxygen flow to our brains which is a great thing. This in turn improves alertness, decreases drowsiness and stimulates mental energy. These wonderful ions are terrific for our immune system and help reduce throat irritations, sneezing and coughing.

Negative ions stimulates serotonin. Serotonin is a chemical in our brain which helps to regulate our digestive systems, creates positive moods and increases energy levels. It also helps alleviate depression, a reliever of stress and a booster of daytime energy levels. Plainly, it lightens moods and helps ability to focus the mind. Exposure to negative ions has great advantages for us.

Fresh Air circulation aids the spread and availability of the negative ions.

Where can we locate these negative ions? Thought you may ask.

They originate from natural sunlight, the movement of air and water. They are found in the hills and mountains, seaside's, beaches, coasts, forests, riversides, waterfalls, Ocean waves, water buffeting the cliffs and rocks. Lightning also generates negative ions. Tens of thousands of them. Breathing them in in abundance creates and definitely helps our positive wellbeing.

Depending on where you are you can experience instant freshness by breathing in fresh air when you open a window. A shower is a generator of negative ions, highly refreshing as well. Even thinking of or imaging places where we experience these places can help us change our moods, for the better.
